JEAN FOUQUET EBONY AND NICKLE-PLATED ART DECO BANGLE BRACELET
Jean Fouquet needs no introduction, as he is one of the most highly revered French jewelers of the Art Deco period, and his pedigree (Georges Fouquet was his father) certainly helped enhance his fame.
This bangle bracelet, made of ebony and two nickle-plated bands, was inspired by Cubism, African art, and new technology and materials; all key influences on Art Deco jewelry. It is said that this design was inspired by the socialite Nancy Cunard, as she was often seen adorned with a multitude of wide African-inspired bangles.
