Ceramics and Porcelain

Ceramics is, perhaps, one of the most ancient crafts, and it did not require advanced technology, and the materials in various forms of clay or mud were usually at hand. Throughout the centuries, new techniques were developed, and ceramics were also used for decorative purposes, and the exploration of the infinite possibilities of forms, textures and glazes continues. We have many beautiful ceramics, including French Art Deco through the 1960's, Italian mid-century, and much more. Porcelain was invented mor recently, but is still a very old material, and prized for its' fineness, durability and versatility. We have wonderful examples by Sevres from the Art Deco period, Gio Ponti for Ginori, and much more.
