GENSOLI FRENCH PORCELAIN VASE
Maurice Gensoli was one of the foremost ceramicists of his time. He worked for Sevres, where he became Chief of porcelain in 1925, and Chief of the design studio in 1928. He remained at Sevres until 1959. Gensoli exhibited at the major Paris Salons, and was elected Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 1952.
Many of his pieces were strongly influenced by Japonese styles, and this vase, with its elegant proportions, gentle curves, and beautiful, subtly colored glaze is a perfect example. His pieces are widely sought by collectors, and each piece can stand alone, and will be a thing of beauty in any decor. 26 H x 15 W x 7.5 D cm.
