SEGUSO MERLETTO MURANO ITALIAN GLASS VASE
Archimede Seguso was one of the finest glass makers working in Murano. The "Merletto", which means lace in Italian, was a very difficult technique to execute, and this not only has beautiful decoration, but a lovely, free-form shape. These pieces are highly sought-after by collectors, but one need not be a collector to enjoy this beautiful and very fine piece of glass. C 1952. 10.25" H x 6" D
We are proud and honored that this piece by Seguso was chosen for inclusion in New Glass Review - The Corning Museum of Glass. Over 2,500 images were submitted to the four jurors, who selected the best 100 pieces for this review.
From the Primavera Gallery collection of Seguso and other Italian glass makers in Murano, Italy.
