ANDRE LANSKOY ABSTRACT GOUACHE
A beautiful, multi-colored abstract gouache by the Russian-born artist Andre Lanskoy. Lanskoy was the son of Count Lanskoy of Moscow and studied at the prestigious School of Pages in St.Petersburg.
To escape the Russian Revolution, Lanskoy, like many other talented artists, fled his homeland for Paris in 1921. In Paris, he discovered the work of Chaim Soutine, who greatly influenced his early works. By the late 1930's, his work became increasingly abstract. Lanskoy is among the most important mid-century French painters. His works are full of color and dynamic movement. It is signed on the lower right.
From Primavera Gallery's collection of fine, French 20th century paintings, photographs and works on paper.
Dimensions (without frame) 35.5 x 28 inches.
