Description

Albert Gleizes was born in 1881, and was a fabric designer before he began to paint seriously. He participated in the Salon d’Automne in 1903 and 1904, and was friends with Robert Delaunay, Fernand Leger and Jean Metzinger. Gleizes went on to become one of the most prominent painters of the period, and his painting bring very high prices. His work includes, in addition to paintings, many large public commissions, including murals for the 1937 Paris World’s Fair.  Gleizes died in 1953.13 x 15.5 inches.
