STERLE, PARIS VINTAGE DIAMOND, EMERALD AND TOURMALINE RING C 1950'S
The House of Sterle produced some of the most charming and original jewelry from the 1930's - 1960's. Some of Sterle's most striking pieces were created during the 1950's, when a wealth of new designs and imagery was sweeping the world of jewelry.
This vintage ring is a perfect example of Sterle's innovative design. Swirls of emeralds enclose swirls of diamonds, each swirl enclosed with gold twisted wire-work characteristic of 1950's jewelry, and of Sterle's work in particular. A sumptuous tourmaline surmounts the ring, and the shank is half emerald - half diamonds for added interest. The swirls create a scalloped edge that gives femininity and movement to this most unusual and very chic ring.
