ISAMU NOGUCHI, "NEO-LITHIC" SCULPTURE
Noguchi is one of the most famous and highly regarded sculptors of the twentieth century. Over the course of his career Noguchi has worked with materials such as stone, wood, slate, ceramics, and iron. This sculpture is made of galvanized steel, an industrial medium not previously employed by the artist. It is of imposing size, and captures the enigmatic quality of the famed Easter Island heads.
From the Primavera Gallery collection of fine sculpture by Noguchi and others.
