Description
A beautiful, multi-colored abstract gouache by the Russian-born artist Andre Lanskoy. Lanskoy was the son of Count Lanskoy of Moscow and studied at the prestigious School of Pages in St. Petersburg.
To escape the Russian Revolution, Lanskoy, like many other talented artists, fled his homeland for Paris in 1921. In Paris, he discovered the work of Chaim Soutine, who greatly influenced his early works. It is signed on the lower right. Dimensions (without frame) 35.5 x 28 inches.
