Description
One of the fascinating things about this “book” is that it is actually a catalogue issued by the Hotel Druout – the famed Paris auction venue. The sale was held from Feb. 3 – 6, 1909. This sale was the contents of the library of a book collector named Mr. Bélinac, who evidently collected fine bindings. This is an interesting catalogue, as is it so different from the way auction houses produce catalogues now. There are many beautiful binding illustrated, each one a full page, 166 plates in black and white.
Original wrappers show discoloration, wear and some losses, plates loose, in excellent condition.
