Description
Etienne Cournault was an important artist associated with the French Art Deco movement. He is best know for his Cubist reverse-painting on glass, sometimes incorporated into interesting sculptures, and, with small versions, incorporated into some of the jewelry designs of Jean Despres. These pieces are highly sought after. He did paintings and drawings as well.
This book, ETIENNE COURNAULT 91891 – 1948), is the catalogue for an exhibition of his work held in Metz, France, from June 25 – October 1994. It was published by La Cour d’Or. Editions Serpenoise. It consists of 159 pages, most of them illustrations of his work in various media, with accompanying text.
The book is in the original soft-cover binding, and except for very minor discoloration to the cover, it is in perfect condition.
This is a wonderful book, as Cournault was a very talented and original artist, and his pieces are quite rare.
