Description
Drawing by Jean Dupas is in red chalk and charcoal on light bistre paper. It was a study for a painting titled Les Pigeons Blancs, which was awarded a gold medal at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1922. Sadly, this painting has been lost, but the drawing is available. It was done when Dupas was studying in Rome, and shows the influences of Mannerism, and also of Ingres. A great drawing with an impressive provenance – it hung in a room designed by Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann. 40″ H x 30″ W.
