Description
This very intriguing drawing in gouache, ink and colored pencil by the famed artist Jean Dupas shows a very modern and stylish young woman seated on the arm of a sofa in front of a portrait of a royal Tudor woman. The breezy execution of the young woman and the interior contrasts strikingly with the tightly executed portrait.
Dupas did many commissions for English clients, and this is most probably one of them. 24.5″ H x 17″ W.
