It is rare to find signed jewelry made prior to the 20th century. Plisson and Hartz were important French jewelers, and their history and examples of their work can be found in the Vever books on French Jewelry, La Bijouterie Francaise.
Each 18k gold cuff-link is designed with two delightful cherubs amid foliage, one set with a ruby, the other with a sapphire. These are wonderful and rare. Numbered, and bear workshop mark for Plisson and Hartz.
